Krismas Time Once Again! 2013

It's that time of year again, (well it has been that time of year for the past 3 months here in the Philippines) Christmas music, presents, lots of food, laughs and good times! It is time for our annual Christmas Celebrations here at the DSWD Complex.   Here are a few highlights from our Christmas parties at Haven and RSCC.

Haven chose to hold the festivities outside in the warm weather.  The girls performed intermission numbers.  The most special performance of all was my choreographed majorette number! We begin practicing in November and included life skills aspects to it so that the girls could really internalize the lessons associated with twirling the baton and teamwork.  The girls performed to Miley Cyrus "Can't Stop", then Cha Cha Cha barkada, followed by a Glee cover of Jingle Bell Rock followed by Feliz Navidad. I have to say that it was awesome and better than I could have imagined. In my abscence, they choreographed some great moves.  After the children's party, we held the staff party.  It rained hard and fast during our party, but still we enjoyed it.  We exchanged gifts with our secret santa and also were given gifts!!!Nice!!

At RSCC we held the party inside and had a packed agenda that began with performances from 6 groups composed of staff.  All groups were great but I have to say that my group was the best! We then played games and had videoke singing which lasted past midnight! Our dinner was catered and it was a great night! Our gift exchange was simple. You buy a gender-neutral gift of a certain price and the day of the party you choose a number which coincides with a gift, and bam that's your gift. No need to guess what someone wants and no slipping the beans on who your secret santa is!!!!

So see the pics for visuals of the culmination of our holiday work season!!!!

My group! We performed Jackson 5 "Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"

The all-stars at RSCC!! We share lots of laughs!

The girls are performing a traditional Bicol dance. Those in pants are the male partners to the girls in dresses.

Another group performs a number.

Group 2 who performs carols. Towards the end coins were thrown at their feet! Great group!

Group 3; performed the  12 days of Christmas!

Our group shot!!

The girls are getting in formation to make a pyramid!

Lechon; the signature item at any big Filipino part or event. It is slow roasted over a fire of coals until it is ready.

Our center head/counterpart Lea, Ate Leonor and Net tasting the lechon.

A song number.
